The Gerd Knoll Sen. was chartered by BALTIC Taucherei- und Bergungsbetrieb Rostock GmbH for diving and support work on the Fehmarnsund Bridge. In the process, several inspection trolleys were burned down and lifted onto the ship, and new inspection trolley were installed under the bridge from the ship. In addition, Gerd Knoll sen. installed a submersible shaft on one of the bridge piers with the help of divers to check the bridge foundation. The operation began in September and is scheduled to be completed in November 2024.
